The Nett Lake Reservation sector of the Bois Forte Band is a 107,000 acre land parcel set aside for the Bois Forte Chippewa in 1865. Several other land sectors also exist. The Nett Lake land sector actually contains Nett Lake, the Bands' 7369-acre wild-rice producing lake. Nett lake wild rice has been harvested by the Band and its ancestors for centuries. Red labels on the map show area where intensive management practices described in this report are presently being carried out.
