BARGE SPECIFICS

AVC "Swamp Devil" Mulching Barge

The mulching barge is propelled by and cuts with two, four-foot diameter, steel blades, independently operated from within the cab at the top center of the barge. This barge is eight feet wide and 24 feet long. The interior hull is partitioned into sealed compartments to minimize the possibility of swamping if compromised by rocks or other submerged structures.
A-620 Plant Harvesting Barge

The Harvester barge is sixteen feet wide and 44 feet long. It weighs 13,000 pounds, and drafts in 20 inches of water when loaded. It can carry up to 12,000 pounds of harvested plant material. The hull is compartmentalized to minimize the possibility of swampling if the steel is breached by rocks. Power is supplied by a Hatz diesel motor and food-grade hydraulic system, to minimize environmental damage if a line break occurs. The barge is operated from the cab top center of the barge hull. The barge is propelled via independently-operated paddle wheels.
